The work on this project started in the Diepsloot Extension 1 Community hall on the 5th of June and between then and now, we have fed an average of 600+ people daily. We operate on Monday to Friday with a team of 20 people progressively changing the lives of many. It is through such initiatives that we are able to solve and answer some of the many questions we seek to answer and we do so by providing a community for many and by supplying a simple hot meal.
On 03 November 2020, The Ikemeleng Foundation started a Vegetable Gardening Project at the heart of Diepsloot. This initiative was aimed at empowering the foundation to best support itself and to have further reach. It is our aim not just to depend on others for support but to become a self-sufficient and sustaining movement for chance and change. As at January 2021 we are already utilizing some of the Vegetables that we planted in November
